Dr. Robi Ludwig is a nationally known television psychotherapist. Robi began her television career working as a specialty reporter for WETM-TV, the NBC affiliate in Elmira, New York. She wrote and produced news stories on behavioral, relationship and mental health issues affecting everyday life. She also produced and hosted Real Talk, a weekly live call-in show covering psychology and self-help topics.
Her practical experience as a psychotherapist began in 1988 when she worked as a social rehabilitation counselor for patients with severe psychiatric problems. In clinical settings and in her private practice, she has treated all forms of mental illness, substance abuse, grieving, sexual identity, job stress, physical and emotional abuse, and trauma.
Dr. Ludwig’s academic credentials include a doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D) from the Southern California University for Professional Studies; she holds a Masters degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Cedar Crest College.
She is a regular on NBC’s Today Show, where she discusses lifestyle issues, such as marriage and dating. She has appeared several times on Oprah, discussing topics including marital infidelity, pathological lying, and the killer mentality. She is also a regular guest on Larry King Live, Nancy Grace, and CourtTV, where she specializes in analyzing the criminal mind. Other appearances include CBS’s Early Show, Fox’s Bill O’Reilly and Neil Cavuto, Inside Edition, Montel, and MSNBC.
Robi's first book, 'Til Death Do us Part: Love, Marriage and the Mind of the Murderous Spouse, was published by Simon and Schuster spring 2006.
